Michael Collins | El Born is the latest chapter in the story of one of Barcelona’s best-known Irish pubs.

The original Michael Collins Irish Pub opened beside La Sagrada Família in 1997 and has welcomed generations of Barcelona residents, Irish visitors and travellers from around the world. Michael Collins | Born now brings that same warmth, hospitality and sense of occasion to one of the city’s most historic and atmospheric neighbourhoods.

Located on Carrer de la Fusina, our new pub has been created as a collection of distinctive Irish interiors, each with its own character and story.

Michael Collins | Born draws inspiration from the public houses, shops, dispensaries, parlours and music rooms once found throughout Ireland. Traditional Irish fittings, period detailing, vintage advertising, antique furnishings and carefully sourced Irish artefacts come together to create a welcoming space that feels established, familiar and full of history.

At its heart is the atmosphere of a genuine Irish pub; a warm welcome, good conversation, live music, great food and drink, and the shared experience of watching the biggest sporting events.

From the richly detailed Victorian bar and old-style dispensary to the music lounge, parlour and more intimate corners of the pub, every space has been designed to reward closer inspection. Many of the objects displayed throughout the building have their own connection to Irish social, cultural and family history.

Michael Collins | Born is a place for food, drinks with friends, live music, traditional sessions, major sporting events and memorable nights out. It is a meeting place for Barcelona’s community and for anyone drawn to the character, generosity and unmistakable atmosphere of a great Irish pub.
